2008 Stats

This is my last post for 2008 and I thought I'd post my stats for craft items made, number of books read & not finished as well as the movies/TV series* that I watched:
  • Altered Fat Book pages: 6
  • ATCs: 60
  • Bookmark: 1
  • Calendars: 5
  • Cards: 159
  • Books Read: 40
  • Books not finished: 4
  • Movies/TV series watched: 187
*such as Hercule Poirot

I'm no longer making Altered Fat book pages, ATCs or Bookmarks. However, I plan to improve on the stats above, with the exception of Movies/TV Series, I could/should probably cut back on how much I sit in front of the tube.

I also did not achieve my personal goal of making 250 cards. I am happy with what I did achieve, 159 cards, and I do not plan on setting any goals for 2009. I just want to make cards and however many I make, I will be happy with that.

I'm looking forward to 2009 being a great year for achieving many things.

Elle Gee's 2009 Calendar swap - No Theme

Elle actually ran two calendar swaps and I participated in both. I found the No Theme calendar swap harder to do, but in the end I am happy with my pages. I hope you like them both:

Elle Gee's 2009 Calendar swap - Black & White theme

Tonight I picked up the 2009 Black & White theme calendar hosted by Elle Gee. This calendar is fantastic, everyone has done an outstanding job. I believe Elle intends to post the pages on her web site in the next few weeks, so if you have the time, drop over to Elle's page and check them out. Since getting my calendar, I have scanned in my 2nd page. I have only scanned the cover and not the inside. The inside is almost identical to the Match Box card I did at Wrapped in Paper, but this one is only in Black & White. My accent colour is on the front of the card. I hope you like it:

Elle Gee's 2009 Calendar swap - Black & White theme

This is one of the calendar pages I did for Elle Gee's Black & White themed 2009 calendar swap. Unfortunately I forgot to scan in the 2nd page I did. However, the 2nd page was the Match Box card as per the Wrapped In Paper card class - see earlier post.

Wrapped In Paper 2009 Calendar Swap

On Monday night, 8th Dec, I picked up my calendar from Wrapped In Paper. Wrapped In Paper had hosted several calendars for 2009 and the one I participated in was the "Nature" theme. I really would have liked a girlie theme, since that is what I like to do, so I did a girlie theme within Nature. I was very happy with my page and here it is:

Birthday card - October 2008

This is the birthday card I made for my dad in October. I thought he'd like this card with an African tribal mask:

Father's Day Card

Here is the card I made for my dad for Father's Day. It is a very simple card, which I did specifically, because I wanted to focus on the words. The words are from one of the Great Impression stamps I purchased from Paper Addiction in Queensland, when I was up there for my birthday holiday.

Birthday Card - Green, Frogs & 50

This card was made for a work colleague to give to her girlfriend who is turning 50. Her girlfriend likes the colour green and frogs. As such, I've done this green coloured card, with a nice green frog and her age of 50. She was happy with the card and her girlfriend will have a unique 50th birthday card.

Cards made Sat 16 & Sun 17 Aug 08

Spent the weekend making cards. The majority of my cards were using the template I have, as per my previous posts. Majority were done with normal patterned paper, but I did do a few more using the proper Japanese Rice Paper. I also had some serviettes ready to go, so I just constructed some cards using some of those serviettes. I am very happy with my work and extremely please that I am on track for meeting my personal goal of 250 cards for 2008.

Japanese Rice paper Card with Bling

I'm still loving the template I have been using to make cards. Below is another one, but this time I only used one pattern paper, a Japanese Rice paper, which has been stuck to Bazzill "Diamond" Bling and then fixed atop Bazzill "Spoiled Brat" Bling. I think these colours come together really well. I have used the Bazzill to punch out the flowers and fixed them with an orange type colour brad bling. I have then stamped some inspirational words onto shrink plastic and attached that with some white cotton, so that it isn't visible. I plan to give this card to a girlfriend for her birthday. I am really happy with this card.

Paper Tole Cards

Below are the cards I made using Paper Tole. This is my first attempt at Paper Tole & probably my last. I didn't find it particularly relaxing cutting everything out, well the fine parts anyway and my technique could do with improving. That's not to say I hated it, but I don't think it is my calling. I may do more Paper Tole type cards if the detail isn't quite so fine. Anyway, I'm not 100% happy with my Paper Tole effort and by that I mean I doubt I will give these cards to anyone, but keep them within my collection. That said, it being my first attempt, I am happy with them to a degree.

Cards made over the last fortnight

These are the cards that I have made over the last fortnight. Some of them have embellishments on the front & some don't. Those that don't I'm happy with how they are, but before I send them to anyone I will decided whether I want to add something further. The cards were made using a template. I have used 6"x6" paper pads, but I believe the template is a great idea for using up scrap papers. That will be my next project, especially using Xmas papers. I need to start on Xmas cards.

Cards made over the last month

These are the cards I have made in the last month. The paper came from one of the magazines I buy, I think it was a UK one and I thought there was so much I could do. I loved being able to do the same card layout just using different colours. I also enjoyed using my MissyB stamps to go with the underwear paper.
